The Newly Appointed Notaries will perform the Role of Mediator

The newly appointed notaries have passed 4-day seminar in Notary Mediation organized by the Training Center of the Notary Chamber of Georgia. These Notaries will be awarded with relevant certificates and perform the role of mediator-notary. The seminar was held by the invited experts.

The Notary Mediation is a simplified form of dispute settlement. Since 2013, in parallel with the court, the settlement of civil disputes is possible with the mediator notary. From August 1, 2016, the mediator notary also resolves the disputes on agricultural lands. This notary service is free. There are up to 600 settlement agreements issued with the assistance of mediator notaries.

The newly appointed notaries will start their work in municipalities and settlements where the notary service was not properly available. Under the Order of the Minister of Justice of Georgia, the notaries were appointed in Adigeni, Borjomi, Kaspi, Signagi and Mtskheta municipalities. From now, the population of these municipalities will benefit from the notary mediation service.
