The Notary Chamber of Georgia hosts the Meeting of General Council of the International Union of Notaries

The Notary Chamber of Georgia hosts the Meeting of General Council of the International Union of Notaries. The meeting is attended by 200 representatives from 87 member countries of the Union.

The International Union of Notaries holds the meeting of General Council annually. Until now it has never been held in the Caucasus region. Last year Georgia hosted the International Conference of Notaries. the conference was so successful with the efforts of the Minister of Justice of Georgia that the meeting of General Council was decided to be held in Georgia this year.

The meeting of General Council started on May 13 and ended on May 14. From May 10 the Chairman of the International Council of Notaries held meetings with various agencies of Georgia within the framework of the meeting, there were also held the meetings with working groups and committees of Union members.

The Notary Chamber of Georgia was highly appreciated by the International Union of Notaries. “We have not accidentally chosen Georgia to hold a meeting of General Council of the International Union of Notaries. The Notary Chamber of Georgia is one of the leaders of the Union members, it has quite a progressive notary system and constantly cares for the development of its services”, said the Chairman of the International Union of Notaries.

“We have received the highest appreciation from the International Union of Notaries for the reforms implemented in the Notary system. In addition, the members of the Union expressed their readiness to work more actively in the legislative field”, said the Chairman of the Board of the Notary Chamber of Georgia, Ms. Nino Khoperia.

The Notary Chamber of Georgia became a member of the International Union of Notaries since 2007. Georgia was declared one of the active members of the Union at the 6^th Plenary Session of the European Affairs Commission of the International Union of Notaries in 2016. The Notary Chamber of Georgia regularly participates in international meetings and conferences, considers the recommendations of the Union of Latin Notariat, hosts the international conferences.
