The leaders and students of Law Faculty were introduced with terms of the qualifying examinations of notaries and internship
The chairman of the Notary Chamber of Georgia, Ms. Nino Khoperia introduced the terms of the qualifying examination of notaries and internship to the leaders and students of Law Faculty of the Higher Universities. The representatives of the Universities (with which the Notary Chamber has signed memorandum of collaboration) have been invited to the Notary Chamber of Georgia. The meeting was attended by 16 representatives of the university.
Passing the qualifying examination and internship at the Training Center of Notaries are the obligatory requirements for holding the position of a notary.
A qualifying examination of notaries will be held on November 30 at the Training Centre of the Justice of Georgia, while the Training Center of Notary Chamber of Georgia will hold the internship exam on November 27.
Under the Order of the Minister of Justice of Georgia, the Notaries must be appointed in the following areas:
Terjola, Vani, Adigeni, Aspindza - these municipalities are still without a notary;
Martvili, Lanchkhuti, Chiatura, Kaspi, Dusheti, Tetritskaro, Akhmeta, Sagarejo, Kvareli, Signagi - notary services are not properly available in these municipalities. The notary will be also appointed in the village Kachreti.
The notary reform started in December 2015 at the initiative of the Minister of Justice of Georgia continues successfully. In 2016, the notaries were appointed in 16 municipalities. Kareli, Keda, Tskaltubo, Ambrolauri, Sartichala, Lentexi, Tsalka, Borjomi, Dedoplistskaro, Mestia, Tsageri, Akhalkalaki, Ninotsminda, Tianeti, Oni, Bakuriani - these are the settlements where the notary offices failed to operate or the notary services were not properly available over the years. The population had to go to the nearest cities to be provided the notary services. For example, Sartichala and Bakuriani never had a notary until 2016, the notary office in Mestia terminated its operation since 2006, in Tsageri - since 2008.
The Notaries will serve the population of the settlements for three years, after which they are permitted to continue their activities in a desired city or municipality.
Instead, the Notary Chamber of Georgia will provide the financial and material support to the newly appointed notaries;
In addition, a notary candidate being appointed in the municipality will be refunded the paid fee for the participation in the qualifying examination by the Notary Chamber.
