The Chairman of the Board of Notary Chamber met the Newly Appointed Notaries

Ms. Nino Khoperia thanked the notaries who responded to the initiative of the Minister of Justice of Georgia, Ms. Tea Tsulukiani and decided to start their notary activities in the municipalities and settlements, where the notary service is not available. In December 2015, as a result of legislative reforms introduced by the Minister of Justice, the notaries were appointed in 8 municipalities by the Minister of Justice of Georgia. Mestia, Borjomi, Dedoplistskaro, Ninotsminda, Tsageri, Oni, Tianeti and Bakuriani – these are the municipalities where the notary service were not properly accessible and the population had to go to the nearest cities to be provided the notary services. For today, the notaries are designated under the mandatory rules for three-year term in the mountainous areas and municipalities where the notary service is not available. Following three years they will be able to continue their activities in desired cities and municipalities. The Notary Chamber fully supports the newly appointed notaries in their activities, assists them financially to furnish and technically equip the notary office. Consequently, the population of the mountainous settlement is provided as comprehensive services as in big cities.

The rule of appointing notaries as provided for by the reforms of the Minister of Justice of Georgia is valid in many European countries (Germany, Italy, Spain ...).
