Notary services become available in more 6 municipalities
As a result of legislative reform in December, the Minister of Justice appointed the notaries in 6 municipalities. Sartichala, Ambrolauri, Tskaltubo, Keda, Kareli, Lentexi – these are the municipalities where notary service has not been properly accessible till today and the population had to go to the nearest cities for obtaining the notary services. For example, Sartichala had never had any notary until 2016, the notaries left Ambrolauri and Keda three years ago and settled in the central district of Tbilisi.
From now, the Notary Ketevan Kurasbediani will serve in Sartichala, Lana Machavariani in Ambrolauri, Kristine Merkviladze in Tskaltubo, Ketevan Tkeshelashvili in Keda, Lana Khanishvili in Kareli and Alexander Chalauri in Lentekhi.
According to the Law, the Notaries will be appointed in the mountainous areas and municipalities for three-year period under the mandatory rules. After three years they may continue their activities in any city and municipality of their choice. The Notary Chamber will provide newly appointed notaries the corresponding support for full realization of notary activities within these three years.
The growth of public services availability in the mountainous areas will support the settlement of population in these regions.
The rule on appointing the notaries as provided for by the reform of the Minister of Justice is applied in many European countries (Germany, Italy, Spain and etc.).
