The first stage of Notary Qualification Examination has started

The first stage of notary qualification examination has started. The examination will be held in two stages: on November 13-14 - test in basic skills and on November 20-21 - test in professional part.

A qualification exam is one of the necessary conditions to occupy the position of Notary.

Pursuant to the amendments to the Law “On Notary” prepared by the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, a candidate meeting all relevant conditions will be appointed as a notary for three year term in the region where the notary service is not available. Tskaltubo, Keda, Tsageri, Mestia, Vani, Oni, Aspindza, Tianeti, Adigeni, Ambrolauri, Ninotsminda - the municipalities are still without a notary.

Three years later, the notary will be able to continue their activities in their favorite cities or municipalities.

Instead, the Notary Chamber will provide financial assistance for the newly appointed Notaries within three years who will be tax exempted according to the Tax Code. Such assistance includes notary office rental costs, technical equipment, financial assistance ... Therefore, the newly appointed notary will have all the conditions for successful implementation of notary activities.

In addition, the Notary Chamber will reimburse the fee paid for the participation in the notary qualification examination by candidates, who will be appointed in highlands or similar settlement where the notary service is not available. 

The legislative change will support to employee the local staff in the municipalities and settle the population in the mountainous areas.

The necessary conditions for holding Notary position: Higher Legal Education (Bachelor’s Degree is sufficient), to pass a notary qualification exam and undertake an internship at the training center of the Notary Chamber (a person who has worked as a lawyer in the Public Service for 5 years, will be free from internship).
