The Master’s Degree Students of Batumi University were informed about the conditions of Notary Qualification Exams

The Notary Chamber of Georgia introduces the conditions of Notary Qualification Exams to the Master’s Degree Students of the Law faculty of Higher Institutions.

The member of the Board of Notary Chamber, Ms. Khatuna Kalandarishvili has met the students of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University today.

The Master’s Degree Students were interested in the conditions of exams and a few of them expressed desire to be appointed as the notary in the settlements remained without a notary.

Pursuant to the amendments made to the Law “On Notaries” prepared by the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, candidates who meet all the relevant conditions will be appointed for a term of three years as the notary in the settlement, where the notary service is not available. He/she will be able to serve the population of that region for three years, after which he/she may continue activities in his favorite city or municipality.

Instead, Notary Chamber provides financial assistance for the newly appointed notaries for three year term who will be exempted from all tax according to the Tax Code.

In addition, for notary candidates who will be appointed in the highlands or in such settlement where the notary service is not available, Notary Chamber will reimburse the fees paid for the participation in the qualification exam.

The necessary conditions for holding Notary position are: Higher Legal Education (Bachelor’s Degree is sufficient), to pass a notary qualification exam and undertake an internship at the training center of the Notary Chamber (a person who has worked as a lawyer in the Public Service for 5 years, will be free from internship).
