The Master’s Degree Students were informed about the conditions of Notary Qualification Exams

The Chairman of the Board of Notary Chamber, Ms. Nino Khoperia  introduced the conditions of Notary qualification exams to the Master’s Degree Students of the Faculty of Law of Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

The Ministry of Justice of Georgia announced Notary Qualification Exams that will be held at the training center of the Ministry of Justice. The documents submission of interested candidates started on October 12 and lasts till November 08, 2015.

Qualification exam is one of the essential conditions for the notary appointment. The Master’s Degree Students who intend to occupy a notary position have a chance to serve in the areas of their country where the population needs their assistance.

Several Master’s Degree Students expressed their desire to pass exams and thereafter be appointed as the notary in the highlands. Pursuant to the amendments made to the Law “On Notaries” prepared by the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, candidates who meet all the relevant conditions will be appointed for a term of three years as the notary in the settlement, where the notary service is not available. After completion of three year team he/she will be able to continue activities in his/her favorite city or municipality.

Instead, Notary Chamber provides financial assistance for the newly appointed notaries for three year term who will be exempted from all tax according to the Tax Code.

In addition, notary candidates who will be appointed in the highlands or in such settlement where the notary service is not available, Notary Chamber will reimburse the fees paid for the participation in the Qualification Exam.

The necessary conditions for holding Notary position are: Higher Legal Education (Bachelor’s Degree is sufficient), to pass a Notary Qualification Exam and undertake an internship at the training center of the Notary Chamber (a person who has worked as a lawyer in the Public Service for 5 years, will be free from internship).
