Georgian notaries acquainted with the experience of other countries in mediation

Georgian notaries (Giorgi Chitashvili, David Imnadze and Mindia Ghaghanidze) participated in an International conference held in Poznan, Poland. The theme of conference was ,,Arbitrage and mediation in theory and practice”.

Methods of introduction and development of medication in participating countries were discussed at the conference, as well as mechanisms of enforcement of mediation agreement.

Mediation, as an alternative method of dispute resolution, is a newly introduced service in the Georgian notariat. Notaries have been assigned the functions of mediator in case of civil disputes since 2013. There are only few cases of applying to notary mediation yet, thus it is important for Georgian notaries to share the experience of other countries.
