REFORMS IN THE NOTARIAT SYSTEM CONTINUE

On the 30th of June there was a presentation of the brand of the Notary Chamber of Georgia and the concept of notariat development held out at the Hotel “Radisson Blu Iveria”. The Minister of Justice introduced the new President of the Notary Chamber of Georgia to participants: members of the Notary Chamber of Georgia, head of services of the Ministry of Justice, members of the judicial power, lawyers, representatives of the financial circles.

The General Meeting elected the new President and members of the Board of the Notary Chamber of Georgia in May. According to the current legislation the Minister of Justice nominates a candidate of the President of the Board of the Notary Chamber to the General Meeting. Nevertheless, this year for the first time Tea Tsulukiani offered notaries to participate in the election process of their chief. Shortly before the election members of the Chamber named their own candidates and the best of them was elected according to the closed ballot. The Minister of Justice nominated the winner, Nino Khopheria, to the position of the President of the Board of the Notary Chamber of Georgia.

Nino Khopheria presented introduced the concept of notariat development to the guests. She emphasized that the Notary Chamber was always working on improvement of notary service and enhancement of the notary image; it was always ready for changes and novelties. For the last years a lot of work has been done in respect of accessibility of notary service, simplification and securing of citizens’ interests. Reform of the notariat system in this direction will be continued in the future as well.

Today the meeting was carried out on the background of the new brand of the Notary Chamber of Georgia. The logotype of the Notary Chamber has been changed. In the new logo pen tips are placed in a circle thus associated with a seal shape symbolizing the main privilege of a notarized document: trustworthiness and stability. The new brand is also a facility for enhancement of the trust to notaries and notary image.
